3 Memphis Police Officers, 2 Suspects Shot While Investigating suspicious Vehicle

Three police officers investigating a reported suspicious vehicle in Memphis, Tenn., early Friday were struck by gunfire, along with two suspects, authorities said.
The Memphis Police Department said officers were responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle at Horn Lake Road and Charter Avenue at around 2 a.m. when they were fired upon, and returned fire. Three officers and two suspects were struck by gunfire, and the vehicle fled the scene.
Police said the vehicle was subsequently located on the 400 block of Hewlett Road. One suspect was taken into custody immediately and the other was located nearby.
Both suspects were transported to Regional One Health. Two officers were also transported to Regional One Health. Police said the third officer was grazed by a bullet and was being treated for minor injuries.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said it is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
Police did not release further details, including the identities of the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
